What is it about AME materials that supports effective customisation?
The nature of the process and of polymeric materials means that AME can create intricate and complex designs. This means there is little to no limit placed on the project during the design phase—customisation and flexibility are possible at every phase.
There is no compromise either. Materials like Nylon 12 retain the flexibility and versatility of AME polymers but increase the tensile strength. So designers can customise the physical attributes of the output, not just its appearance.
In fact, the range of choice in materials is part of what makes customisation so easy. From ABS and PLA to epoxy resin and wax, engineers have several options. And this is before we consider metals and ceramics.
AME is really starting to move ahead of traditional electronic manufacturing in almost every way.
