Interesting article from MIT i wanted to share here.tldr: MIT researchers have developed the first 3D-printed, semiconductor-free logic gates, a key step towards fully 3D-printed active electronics. Using a copper-doped polymer, they created devices that perform basic switching functions similar to transistors, but with a more sustainable, biodegradable material. This innovation could make electronics manufacturing more accessible and environmentally friendly. While not as efficient as traditional transistors, the technology shows promise for simpler applications and future advancements in 3D-printed electronics.
