APES Partners With IDS To Advance 3D Printed Electronics
APES and Integrated Deposition Solutions, Inc. (IDS) have announced their collaboration to create the development in 3D printed electronics. This collaboration aims to expedite product development and production by combining IDS' advanced aerosol printing technology with APES engineering & manufacturing capabilities.
Detail of the APES and IDS Collaboration
Overcoming the Most Critical Challenges in Printed Electronics
The IDS and 3D printed electronics expert APES are teaming up in a partnership to tackle industry bottlenecks. Historically, customers have struggled with the complexity of a plethora of technologies and manufacturing processes to get products from concept through prototype into production. These complexities make it difficult for innovative product ideas to materialize.
Leveraging Combined Expertise
Together IDS and the APES Partnership will leverage their knowledge to establish a robust, template-based printing ecosystem with support for 3D printed electronics from end-to-end. IDS will leverage its aerosol-based printed electronic platforms and modules providing a robust foundation for high-performance manufacturing. In the interim, APES will hold customers' hands from product concept definition through engineering development and prototyping to pilot fabrication using IDS's proven process recipes along with their in-house Neotech AMT 5-axis motion systems complete with its NanoJet capability.
Customer Strategic Benefits
IDS Sales Manager, Dov Phillips commented on the strategic benefits of this partnership and how it will enable NanoJet users to turn their projects from ideas into reality. Materials, applications and print platforms had to be brought together in a stable ecosystem for printed electronics to succeed, he said.
APES CEO Richard Neill acknowledged that the partnership could be a way of bridging the gap between product engineering with 3D printed electronics fabrication. Through the collaboration, utilizing the collective industry when it comes to both IDS and APES can make your development process faster by helping take a product from R&D levels all they way through pilot production and/or scaling up into full-scale creation.
About IDS
Formed in 2013, IDS offers the most dependable aerosol printing in the industry. Via their Gen2 module, they are able to deposit traces between 10-2000 microns wide and up to 5 micro-layers high. This was the first technology of its kind, and it provided ink stability which has proven to be unmatched by recent advances in print head technologies; IDS' patented dual lens focusing approach avoided satellite deposits as well as minimized overspray. Enabling print heads for integration with a wide range of motion platforms and providing complete 3-axis systems, appropriate for research or production applications.
